Authorities are investigating whether Justin Bieber drove recklessly within the gated community were he lives, reportedly raising the ire of former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson.
The sheriff's department received complaints that Bieber allegedly was speeding about 8 p.m. Monday within The Oaks gated community near the 25000 block of Prado del Grandioso, said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
"Two witnesses called us and claimed he was driving a white Ferrari at high speed,'' Whitmore said. "We took a report.''
Deputies tried to speak with Bieber, but he declined to talk with them, apparently on the advice of his attorney, Whitmore said.
Investigators were preparing a report that could result in Bieber's prosecution on misdemeanor reckless driving, Whitmore said.
Sources told the celebrity news web site TMZ.com that Johnson had just left a party in the gated community and had a child in his Prius when Bieber zoomed past in his Ferrari.
Johnson was furious, feeling that Bieber could have killed someone, so he took the child home and began chasing the singer, TMZ reported. At Bieber's home, he blocked the Ferrari in the driveway and got out to confront Bieber, who ran inside and refused to come out, according to TMZ.
