As a parent, volunteer, advocate and small business owner, Jody Thomas has been a leader in her community for over 20 years. First and foremost, Thomas is a mother who was actively involved in all aspects of her daughter’s education and development. As a result, Thomas is a passionate advocate for the city’s school system and will be a strong voice for education on the Calabasas City Council. As an Emmy award winning member of the film and TV industry, Jody has been successfully running her own Calabasas based post-production sound effects business, The Sync Tank. Her clients include NBC Universal Studios and Warner Brothers.

As a community leader, Jody has served as President of the Old Topanga Homeowner’s Association, served on the Environmental Standards Committee and participated in the recent County Redistricting Hearings. Her work on behalf of the citizens of Calabasas has been featured in the LA Times and she continues to press for greater transparency and more opportunities for citizen participation in the local governance.

Whether it is opposing the city’s overreaching septic tank ordinance, advocating for the protection and preservation of open space and view sheds, speaking out on the wireless issue and making sure the City Council responsibly adheres to its budget, Thomas can always be counted on as a truthful, passionate and committed voice for her fellow citizens of Calabasas.
