As a 14-year-old girl living in Beverly Hills, Dana Fineman picked up a camera, and began shooting. Since then, she has not been able to put down the camera. The young photographer was mentored by the talented and world-famous Douglas Kirkland, who encouraged her to move to New York City. This began a journey that took Fineman all over the world, photographing for numerous publications, including Life (her dream job as a child), Time, Newsweek, People, Town & Country, National Geographic Traveler, Ladies' Home Journal, TV Guide, Good Housekeeping, Le Figaro, Der Spiegel, L'homo Vogue and InStyle.
Many famous celebrities and politicians have been on the other side of Fineman's lens, including Oprah Winfrey, Patrick Dempsey, Meryl Streep, Renée Zellweger and Wynona Judd. She was invited to take pictures of Hillary Clinton as well as George W. and Laura Bush.
Fineman also is considered to be the go-to photagrapher in Malibu, where in adition to taking pictures for Malibu Patch, she photographs portraits. Hundreds of Malibu residents, especially children, have been the objects of Fineman's photography, including her own children, Sophie, Luke and Maxim.
