Flag as Inappropriate

Miguel Leonis was a major figure in the early formation of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. He was known as the 'King of Calabasas' for keeping a home here while controlling much of the West San Fernando Valley and what is now Ventura County in the 1880s. The museum has been built on the site of his home.

Visitors to the museum can learn much about California immigration history, Los Angeles cultural heritage and 19th century architecture. The Leonis Adobe is open to the public, but donations are appreciated. Private tours and events are available by appointment.

For more information, call the number provided.
