In July 2008, Calabasas' collection of 53,000 books, DVDs and audiobooks found a permanent home, when a brand new 25,000-square-foot library facility completed construction just across from City Hall. In addition to places to relax and read quietly, the library also houses a 3,000-square-foot assembly and banquet room known as Founder's Hall and an outdoor amphitheater. Many reading, discussion and study programs are also offered at the library for anyone wishing to participate. The library director is Barbara Lockwood.
