Blog: Relay for Life Helps Us All Fight Back and Honors Survivors at a FREE Party on 4/24

Last year, my 13 and 10-year-old boys decided to participate for the first time in the Calabasas Relay for Life. What followed was a spring of celebration and fundraising for all our loved ones who have had cancer. The experience made my boys better citizens and was incredibly rewarding. This year, I hope to inspire many more in our community to follow my boys and join us in Relay.

The main event is May 18-19 at AE Wright, but we have lots happening as we count down to our 2013 Relay. Next Wednesday, April 24, we are hosting a FREE party for all cancer survivors. The party is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Sagebrush Cantina. 

We invite all cancer survivors to join us in a celebration of hope and life! Please come for appetizers, dessert, festivities, and the opportunity to  • Meet and talk with other survivors…some in treatment; others who have been survivors for decades; • Learn about services the American Cancer Society has to offer to cancer survivors and their families; and • Experience the healing and strength that comes with being around others who have survived cancer.
