Vigil Planned for Calabasas Basketball Coach in Coma

Joe Frazier was critically injured in a motorcycle crash last week.

A prayer vigil for assistant basketball coach Joe Frazier, who was in a motorcycle accident, will be held at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 28-year-old suffered a head injury and remains in a coma following a hit-and-run accident in Tarzana on Aug. 25. There is no change in his condition as of Wednesday.

Frazier has been a Calabasas assistant coach for one year, and has strong ties to the basketball community by working as a private coach and also running a summer basketball camp in Pasadena.

“He is like the pied piper of basketball, a very dynamic personality who has always been enthusiastic and full of life every time he has ever walked into a gymnasium,” said head basketball coach JonPalarz said. “He just has such a gift working with kids.”
