Runners, Get Ready for Reyes Adobe Days' BIG BAD RAD

The Reyes Adobe Days run is one of the most anticipated events of the annual 3-day festival, which takes place Oct 4-6 this year.

In order to shake things up, the coordinators have introduced BIG BAD RAD, a 10 miler plus a 10K which will begin at Paramount Ranch rather than at the adobe.

"Basically, it's the same race as last year, except we've moved the starting line," said Traci Greenberg, event organizer. "We wanted to make it more interesting, revamp the run a little bit."

In addition, Greenberg said Paramount Ranch offers better parking.

"It's where we will also be holding this year's runner's expo," she said.

The coordinators are describing the event as a run through the Old West,
from "saloons and Stetson hats to the stunning vistas of the majestic Santa Monica Mountains."

"From memories of quick draw bounty hunters to the finish on a gritty Old West movie set where cowboys and outlaws once wrangled, the BIG BAD RAD offers a historic, authentic taste of the Agoura Hills area," the press release reads.

Greenberg said participants will be able to take full advantage of the beauty of Agoura Hills, from its stately mansions to its bountiful wineries.

"The goal is to keep it growing," she said of the revitalized course.

Registration is now open for the BIG BAD RAD, which takes place Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Sign up at  www.BigBadRAD.com.
