"Lauren's background – which includes strong academic, instructional, leadership and coaching experiences – combined with her dedication and work ethic will be a tremendous addition to the leadership team at Calabasas and a wonderful support and resource for the staff and students," Dr. Dan Stepenosky, LVUSD superintendent, said in a press release.

Young said she looks forward to "watching the Coyotes gain further success on the fields and in the classroom."

"The benefits of being a student athlete provide a lifetime of opportunities and the ability to make long lasting relationships," she said

Miller comes to LVUSD from Malibu Middle School and most recently Malibu High School.  He taught Spanish and served as World Languages Department Chair and was previously head varsity golf coach and junior varsity basketball coach.

In addition, he served on the school’s School Site Council and Principal's Instructional Leadership Team. As an administrative intern, he facilitated a cross-curricular learning team and led a focus group during Malibu High School’s accreditation process.

“I have genuinely enjoyed my tenure at Malibu High. It has been a great place to work the last six years. The students, parents, and staff have been nothing but supportive,” Miller said in a press release.  "I am extremely excited about joining LVUSD and am looking forward to working with Kimmarie Taylor and the staff, students, and families at A. E. Wright as we help all students achieve their individual and collective best."

Miller received his Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, and his Master’s degree in Educational Administration from California State University in Northridge.

"Patrick's focus on the success and well-being of children is inspirational," Stepenosky said in a press release. "His curricular background, leadership experiences, energy, focus, and passion will be terrific additions to the very strong and dedicated team of educators at A. E. Wright."

As the Assistant Principal at A. E. Wright Middle School, Miller will oversee discipline and student activities.
