School Board Thanks Student Reps

Ori Ravid of Agoura High and Jordan Ungar of Calabasas High receive plaques for their work bringing campus issues to the district's attention.

The Las Virgenes Unified School District Board of Education bid farewell to its student representatives Tuesday and awarded them with plaques for their service throughout the school year.

Seniors Jordan Ungar of Calabasas High School and Ori Ravid of Agoura High School were thanked by Supt. Donald Zimring as well as board members.

As student representatives, Ungar and Ravid were responsible for taking the concerns of their fellow students and communicating them to the school board.

"They actually have the power and the ability to affect policy that affects 12,000 students and could affect them for years and years to come," Zimring said.

Cameron Nili of Calabasas High and Kee-Hwan Kim of Agoura High will replace Ungar and Ravid for the next school year.

Ungar is heading to Ohio State University in the fall and Ravid will be moving on to New York University where he will study film.
