For the last five years, Brazell was the principal at Campus Canyon College Preparatory Academy, where she led the implementation of a new K-8 grade magnet school where the strategies of gifted and talented education are applied school-wide for all students. She also led the development of a Response to Intervention program where her school staff teamed to meet the needs of all students through targeted skills instruction, intervention and enrichment.

Currently, she lives in Ventura County with her husband and has four adult children. Here grandson will be a student in the Dual Immersion program at Sumac Elementary.
