Water Official to Appear on Huell Howser Special

John Mundy of the local water district will be interviewed in a program about California's water infrastructure.

(LVMWD) facilities and General Manager John Mundy will be featured during a portion of the California’s Water broadcast hosted by Huell Howser, which is scheduled to air next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on television station KCET Los Angeles.

The program segment is entitled, “Water: The Best Deal Around” and will focus on the value water plays in the everyday lives of Californians while looking at some of the complex and costly infrastructure that’s often hidden from view, but necessary to deliver safe, reliable supplies of water to customers in the region.

Told in Huell Howser’s unique homespun style, the segment is the 25th in the “California’s Water” series that has traced water from its origins as rain or snow in the state’s mountainous regions and followed its flow into California’s agricultural and urban areas, while showing viewers some of the challenges and complex policy issues associated with water.

“We’re proud to have been selected as part of this informative series,” said Mr. Mundy. “We hope everyone will have the opportunity to learn more about their water and some of what it takes to bring it to the region for use in our homes, schools, and businesses and for fire protection.”

In addition to airing on KCET, the program will be broadcast by public television stations throughout the state and will also be available for viewing as webcasts from public TV websites and at the Association of California Water Agencies website
