Outgoing Chair of Parks, Recreation and Education Commission Honored

Matthew Heller received a certificate of appreciation at Wednesday night's City Council meeting.

 

Matthew Heller, former chair of the Calabasas Parks, Recreation and Education commission, was honored at Wednesday night's City Council meeting for his service to the city.

Heller received a certificate of appreciation for five years of exemplary contributions to the advancement of parks and recreation in Calabasas.

Councilmember David Shapiro praised Heller for his diligence and forward thinking initiatives. 

Councilmember Lucy Martin said that Heller will be missed; however, “Agoura Hills will be getting a new asset,” she said.

He stepped down on August 1 after moving from Calabasas to Agoura Hills.

Heller is now president of the Community Center Alliance, the fundraising arm of the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center.
