Election Night Blog: City Council Race

This was a blog that ran on election night.

10:16 p.m. -- Fred Gaines and Lucy Martin clinched seats on the council by earning the most votes with all precincts reporting. Stay tuned for a follow-up interviews with the winners. About 150 provisional ballots still need to be counted, but city officials say it's not enough votes to change Tuesday night's outcome.

10:06 p.m. -- Fred Gaines and Lucy Martin maintain their leads with 1,114 and 1,048 votes respectively. Ballots from precinct 3 have been counted . Only precinct 16 remains.

9:59 p.m. -- Fred Gaines and Lucy Martin build upon their leads with 1,047 and 944 votes, respectively. Ballots from precincts 1 and 6 have been tallied

9:40 p.m. -- Lucy Martin has overtaken Bob Sibilia for the second most amount of votes. Fred Gaines leads all candidates with 819 votes. Tallies from precinct 72 have been counted.

9:35 p.m. -- Votes from precinct 10 have been tallied. Fred Gaines leads all candidates with 759 votes, while Bob Sibilia remains in second place with 662, only 18 ahead of Lucy martin.

9:25 p.m. -- Fred Gaines and Bob Sibilia hold on to their leads with 732 and 620 tallies, respectively. Ballots from precinct 20 have been counted.

9:15 p.m. -- The first of the precinct ballots begin trickling in.

8:28 p.m. -- Fred Gaines and Bob Sibilia take an early lead following the absentee vote count. Gaines has 647 votes while Sibilia has earned 523. A total of 2,536 absentee ballots were counted.

8:03 p.m. -- Absentee ballot count begins.
