City Proclaims October as 'Anti-Bullying Awareness Month'

The Calabasas City Council has officially proclaimed its support of a “Ban on Bullying” and named the month of October as “Anti-Bullying Awareness Month” in the City of Calabasas.

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony held August 28 in Calabasas City Council Chambers, representatives of the Calabasas City Council, Las Virgenes Unified School District, the Los Angeles County Sheriff and Fire Departments, and other dignitaries joined former Laker star Mitch Richmond, his wife Juli, and Rock Life staffers to support the anti-bullying measure.

Richmond’s Rock Life Program is dedicated to building awareness of bullying and other issues that young adults and their parents face. Rock Life helps young people build self-esteem, create healthy relationships, while teaching parents the warning signs of bullying and depression, and sharing supportive ways to communicate and resolve issues before they escalate to a point of no return.
