Calabasas Names Citizens of the Year for Work with Seniors

Sue Somberg and Carol Davis are honored as Citizens of the Year for their work with seniors in Calabasas.

Savvy Seniors founding members Carol Davis and Sue Somberg were honored recently with the 2013 Calabasas Citizens of the Year awards.

The award was presented to Davis and Somberg by Calabasas Mayor Mary Sue Maurer during the state of the city address on Jan. 24.

Maurer identified the Savvy Seniors program as one of the top reasons why Calabasas is a great place to live and work.

The Savvy Senior Task Force has worked with the city to put on more than 70 activities for people over the age of 50.

The city is also in the process of developing a senior center in Calabasas.
