A delegation of 32 mayors from all over Japan visited Calabasas on October 3rd. The mayors were in town to learn about the Las Virgenes Creek Restoration and to hear more about the city’s emergency preparedness and response programs.
“It was a true honor to have officials from Japan visiting Calabasas," said Mayor pro Tem David Shapiro. "We look forward to a continuing relationship with our new friends."
In addition, the mayors toured the Calabasas Civic Center where they met with city staff and attended presentations on the city’s ongoing environmental and emergency preparedness efforts.
"I enjoyed getting to know our guests and was quite proud to share with them some of the innovative things we’re doing to serve our residents and community,” said Councilmember Lucy Martin.
