Calabasas Has a New Mayor

Appointed to the council two years ago, David J. Shapiro takes the gavel.

From a city of Calabasas press release:

On Wednesday March 26, the Calabasas City Council held its annual reorganization meeting at which David J. Shapiro was named Mayor and Lucy Martin was named Mayor pro Tem.

Every year, the Mayor is selected by the City Council from one of its members for a one year term, and serves as the official representative of the City for all legislative and ceremonial purposes.

“I am honored, humbled and looking forward to my term as Mayor,” said Shapiro. “Working with our schools and youth has always been a top priority for me, and I am eager to further the City’s efforts in the areas of fiscal responsibility, emergency preparedness, the acquisition of open space, and breaking ground on our Adult Enrichment Center.”
