The theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. on July 26 and 9 a.m. on July 27, deputies said.

The decorative cross, which was 72 inches tall and 42 inches wide, was situated on a mountaintop approximately a quarter-of-a-mile northeast of the main campgrounds.

The thief most likely sawed off the cross in order to remove it, according to a deputy’s report.

There were no anti-religious markings left behind, the report added.

The location does not have any surveillance cameras and no witnesses were found.

Grape Arbor Park vandalized

A vending machine, a public telephone, an entrance sign and other fixtures at were vandalized with black spray paint markings last week, deputies said.

The act of vandalism occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on July 27 and 8 a.m. on July 28, according to a deputy’s report.

There were no surveillance cameras at the park and no witnesses were produced, authorities said.

The city of Calabasas will incur the cost of repairs, which is estimated at $500, the report read.

Business break-in on Parkway Calabasas

Someone broke into the offices of Focus on Testing in the 5000 block of Parkway Calabasas on July 31, but apparently did not steal anything, deputies said.

The break-in occurred sometime between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to a deputy’s report.

Someone used a large rock to smash a window on the northeast corner of the office to gain entry, the report read.

However, the victim later told authorities that nothing appeared to be missing.

Sunglasses swiped in vehicle burglary

A $300 pair of women’s sunglasses by Coach and other eyewear was stolen from the passenger seat of a car parked in the 5800 block of Las Virgenes Road, deputies said.

The vehicle burglary happened sometime between 9 p.m. on July 28 and 8:15 a.m. on July 28, a deputy’s report read.

Despite the victim claiming that his vehicle was locked during the time of the theft, authorities were unable to find any signs of forced entry, the report stated.

The victim also denied a check for fingerprints.
