An Encino man accused of trying to burglarize a Calabasas home was free on bail Tuesday.
Matthew Alan Behar, 36, of Encino was arrested on Feb. 10 at a home on Maynard Drive near Cold Canyon Road, according to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.
Behar was released on Feb. 12 on bail, according to L.A. County jail records.
The woman called 911 when she spotted a man trying to open a sliding glass door.
The man, who continued to roam around the property while deputies were on their way, was taken into custody at gunpoint, according to a report filed at the station.
“The suspect was rambling that he knew the people in the house and had come to pay respects to his friends that lived there,” the report states. The victim told investigators she did not know him and no one had died at the home.
An unrelated burglary was reported on Feb. 7 on Ludgate Road near Lost Hills Road in Calabasas.
A wrist watch worth $4,700 and a bracelet with gold and glass beads worth $850 were taken.
Investigators determined the kitchen door was pried open from the outside.
