Vehicle Burglaries; Bicycle Stolen

Most recent crimes include two smash-and-grabs and the theft of a $1,500 mountain bike.

Vehicle burglary on Mulholland Highway

A $75 Marc Jacobs purse containing a wallet, a cellphone and a debit card were stolen from a vehicle parked on Mulholland Highway, a quarter-of-a-mile west of Las Virgenes Road on June 11.

The vehicle burglary occurred sometime between 4 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., according to Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s deputies.

The victim said she parked on Mulholland Highway and went for a jog with her mother. Upon returning, the victim noticed that the rear passenger window of her 2011 Volkswagen sedan was smashed.

Wells Fargo informed the victim that a failed transaction involving her debit card had taken place at a Woodland Hills branch location.

Deputies did not find any witnesses to the burglary and there were no surveillance cameras in the area.

Bicycle stolen

A $600 Diamondback mountain bicycle was burglarized from a residence in the 5300 block of Parkmor Drive, according to deputies.

The theft took place somtime between 11 p.m. on June19 and 11 a.m. on June 20, a police report read.

The victim said the burglar cut a lock securing the bicycle to a parking stall. The mountain bicycle is a 10-speed, has recoil, full suspension, a men’s frame, and 26-inch wheels and is yellow and gold in color.

Jewelry stolen in vehicle burglary

A $1,500, 18-karat gold bracelet and other accessories were stolen from a parked car in the 700 block of Stunt Road on June 23, deputies said.

The vehicle burglary occurred sometime between 7 p.m. and 7:40 p.m., a police report read.

The victim said she noticed the passenger window of her vehicle was smashed and that the burglar snatched her purse containing a wallet from the floor behind the passenger seat.

In addition to the reversible bracelet, a Blackberry was inside the $350 Jay Crew brown leather brown purse, deputies said.

After leaving the scene, the deputy went to the Mobil gas station on Las Virgenes Road and noticed shards of the same kind of tinted glass at pump #4 that were found in the victim’s vehicle.

The deputy asked the station attendant to provide security footage of the pump. The attendant added that he last saw a white van at pump #4.
