Vehicle Burglaries; Crystal Figurines Stolen

Two vehicle burglaries reported in the last week and a home burglary on Degrass Avenue.

Smash-and-grab on Mulholland Highway

More than $300 in personal belongings was stolen from a vehicle parked on Mulholland Highway, a quarter-of-a-mile west of Las Virgenes Road on Friday.

The burglar smashed both passenger side windows of a 2011 Toyota Scion to gain entry, deputies said.

He made off with a purple leather purse that carried prescription eye glasses valued at $150, a $100 Sony digital camera, a $30 black leather purse belonging to another victim that carried a driver’s license.

The break-in caused about $400 worth of damage to the car, deputies said.

Crystal figurines, jewelry stolen in home burglary

Crystal figurines and jewelry were burglarized from a residence in the 2300 block of Degrasse Ave. on May 18, deputies said.

The theft occurred sometime between 8:05 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., they added.

A woman was house sitting the property for her mother-in-law. When the woman arrived in the afternoon to check in on the house, she noticed that the master bedroom had been ransacked.

Deputies said the burglar slid one of the bedroom’s windows open to gain entry.

Two crystal Swarovsky swan figurines, valued at $75 and $40, $500 in US currency, a $200 Jemms bracelet bearing pearls and rhinestones were among the stolen valuables, according to a police report.

Pricey purse and more stolen

A $1,000 Gucci purse with silver buckles and other personal belongings were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a residence in the 3700 block of Via Halcon , deputies said. 

The vehicle burglary occurred sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to a police report.

The purse and an $800 Louis Vuitton brown leather wallet bearing the initials “VT” were left in the front seat of the victim’s car.
