2 Teens Sentenced for Anti-Semitic Vandalism

Two 17-year-olds, who admitted to the crimes of spray-paintiing graffiti at Calabasas High, are sentenced to community service and probation, while a third teen awaits trial.

Two 17-year-old boys accused of vandalizing the campus with in April admitted to the crimes in Juvenile Court on Wednesday and were sentenced, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

The teens were both 16 when they were arrested and admitted in court to comitting felony vandalism with a hate crime allegation, said Deputy District Attorney Kristiana Dietzel of the Sylmar Juvenile Office.

Their names have been withheld because they are minors.

The boys were ordered by Sylmar Juvenile Court Referee Mark Frazin to each complete 100 hours of community service, pay $6,000 in restitution, attend counseling and attend a program at the Museum of Tolerance, according to a statement from the DA's office. They will also be under court and county Probation Department supervision for one year, the statement read.

A third teen suspected in the vandalism, who is 17, the same age he was when he was arrested, returns to court on Nov. 17 for a trial-setting date, the statement read.

If convicted of the vandalism charge, he could spend up to three years in confinement at a Division of Juvenile Justice facility, said Sharia Davila-Morales of the DA's office.
