Taking a Crack at School Property

A blunt force object was used to crack four Plexiglas windows at A.C. Stelle Middle School sometime between 4 p.m. May 25 and 10 a.m. May 26.

The windows are on Building D, which is located on the east side of the campus.

Although deputies said a blunt force object was used in the act of vandalism, such an item could not be found at the scene.

About $200 worth of damage was done to the Plexiglas windows.

Bad Time for Lunch

A $6,000 Breitling watch was stolen from atop a small wall where its owner had left it  on the 24000 block of Park Riviera.

The victim decided to grab a late lunch around 4 p.m. April 18, following an afternoon of working on his car, and forgot that he had left his watch on a small wall about 40 feet from his property line.

Upon returning an hour later, he noticed the timepiece was gone.

Deputies asked the victim why he waited until May 20 to report the theft and the victim said he turned the claim over to his homeowner's insurance first and the company requested a police report.

Hope You Enjoy the Sun

A hole was cut in the brown canvas sunroof of a 2002 Toyota Solara in order to gain entry into the vehicle, but no items were stolen.

The attempted vehicle burglary occurred sometime between 9 p.m. May 19 and 1 p.m. May 20 on the 2300 block of Park Capri and resulted in about $1,000 worth of damage to the car.

The contents of the glove compartment were emptied onto the vehicle's floorboard, but no items were reported missing.

Take a Hammering

Almost $4,000 worth of tools was stolen from a truck that was parked on the 5600 block of Ruthwood Drive.

The burglary occurred sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. May 18.

The victim left the driver side storage compartment of his work truck unlocked, which is how the suspect gained entry.

A black tool bag containing $2,000 worth of tools, a $600 vacuum pump and a $250 power saw were among the equipment taken.

No witnesses to the crime could be located.

A Tire Slasher Leaves His Mark ... and His Knife

The person who slashed a tire on the 22000 block of Mulholland Highway could be wondering why a knife is missing.

Maybe it's because it's still in the tire that was flattened.

The incident is said to have occurred sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. May 26.

When the victim returned to her car she saw the knife sticking out of the front passenger tire.

She told deputies that the suspect could be a boyfriend she broke up with two years ago and that he had slashed her tires before.
