Narcotics Investigation Sparks Manhunt in Calabasas

A man fled from a narcotics investigation at a Calabasas apartment complex Sunday night.

The search began just after 11 p.m. Sunday at the apartment complex on Las Virgenes Road at Mureau Road, according to Sgt. Chad Watters of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station.

Investigators arrived at the apartment and seized several narcotics, but one person fled, spurring a 20-minute manhunt in the area. A helicopter assisted in the search, but the man was not found.

Detectives know the name of the man, which was not released pending the investigation, according to the sergeant.

Several people were detained at the scene, but it was not immediately clear if any arrests were made.
