A man arrested under the suspicion of domestic battery this morning in Calabasas has been identified as ex-NFLer and ESPN football personality Keyshawn Johnson.
According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department press release, deputies were called to the scene at 12:48 this morning “regarding a possible spousal assault call for service.”
Deputies determined the resident and his ex-girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute and ultimately arrested the homeowner.
A second LASD press release identified the suspect as Johnson, a wide receiver back in the day for the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bail was set at $20,000.
Johnson made bail and was released at 9:15 this morning, according to a second press release.
Johnson was the No. 1 draft pick in 1996, an All-American at USC and played wide-receiver for the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers, retiring after the 2006 season.
