Bus Fire Snarls Saturday Traffic Along 101

A bus fire on Highway 101 in Calabasas caused a congestion of traffic Saturday afternoon.

The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a brush fire about 4:15 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 past the Las Virgenes Road ramp.

Arriving officers discovered a black medium-size bus on fire on the right shoulder, and all lanes on the southbound side of the highway were shut down, according to the Ventura County Star.

Fire crews immediately doused the flames, but lanes remained shut down for about an hour snarling traffic. All lanes were cleared just before 6 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
