Bicyclist Killed in Local Mountains Identified

Willis Veluz-Abraham lost his life on Saturday.

A man who crashed a bicycle into a ravine in the Santa Monica Mountains and died Saturday was identified today as a 42-year-old Winnetka man.

Willis Veluz-Abraham died near Stunt Road and Mulholland Highway south of Calabasas some time before about 9 a.m., according to coroner's Lt. Joe Bale.

Apparently, the California Highway Patrol got word of the accident and dispatched county firefighters. "Our paramedics responded to the scene at 8:58 a.m.,'' said a L.A. County Fire Department dispatcher.

It was unclear if anyone saw the accident happen.
