Alcohol Shoplifted; Car Burglary at the Commons

Surveillance footage catches two people stealing alcohol from Ralphs; the window of a Toyota Prius is smashed at a local auto shop.

Liquor bottles stolen from Ralphs

Shoplifters stole nearly $200 worth of alcohol from the inside the on Dec. 22, according to deputies.

The store's manager said he passed by a man and a woman acting suspiciously near the alcohol racks around 12:10 p.m., according to a deputy's report.

Several minutes later, the manager returned to the aisle and said two rows of bottles were missing, deputies said.

Surveillance footage showed the two shoplifters walking out of the store with eight bottles of Ciroc Red Berry Vodka and three bottles of St. Remy Brandy without paying for them, the report read.

The manager said the shoplifters removed security locks on the bottles that were stolen using a special key. Those locks were found placed on other bottles in order to conceal that the security caps were never removed, he told deputies.

The male thief is African-American and believed to be in his mid-30s, 6 feet 4 inches in height and weighing between 280 and 300 pounds, deputies said. He was wearing a dark jacket and faded jeans. The female shoplifter is also African-American and 5 feet 11 inches in height and weighed between 150 and 160 pounds. She was wearing tight jeans, a dark sweater and carried a large black purse, deputies said.

Someone smashed the front passenger window of a white 2007 Toyota Prius that was being worked on at , deputies said.

The vandalism occurred sometime between 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Monday, a deputy's report read.

The informant was unable to reach the victim to find out if anything was stolen, deputies said.

There are no security cameras at the location.

Vehicle burglary at the Commons

A $3,000 navigation and stereo system and other personal belongings were stolen from a car that was parked at the Commons on Jan. 5, according to deputies.

The victim said she parked her 2007 Cadillac Escalade around 6:20 p.m. and returned at approximately 9:50 p.m. to find that the driver's side door was unlocked and that several items were missing.

Upon further investigation, deputies said learned that the door's lock was tampered with and was now loose.

The burglar also made off with a $700 pair of reading glasses, a $500 pair of sunglasses, an iPad and the vehicle's third row seats.
