It seems that some pets never get a break and Bella is a case in point. More than most dogs, she is unhappy being kept at the shelter and resists reentering her kennel after going for walks, and now she is back at the shelter for the second time through no fault of her own.
The first time she was adopted she was returned because she kept getting out of her harness. It is possible the family didn’t understand how to put it on because at the shelter this hasn’t been problematic. The family said she was perfect in every other way.
Her second adoption was with a family that loved her, had her for about six months but, again, she was returned, this time because this family had to move out of state. What bad luck for Bella!

Here are some things you should know about her:
· She is housebroken.

· She is good with small children
· She enjoys leaving her kennel and going for walks with volunteers and does well on leash.
· She has had some basic training and will sit and shake.
· She takes treats gently.
· She does well in the shelter’s “real room” and can be safely left alone while in there.
· She probably should be the only pet in the household.
· She is aloof when she sees other dogs while on walks.
Bella is a 7-year-old German Shepherd mix. If you are worried about adopting an older dog, don’t be. She was taken to a private vet for her senior wellness check-up and her blood work and physical exam were normal. At shelters, older dogs are often the last to be adopted and often overlooked. She will make a great companion and simply put, she just wants to be with people.
If you already have another dog, bring it with you for a meet and greet to be certain they get along.
Since she already had a failed two adoptions through no fault of her own, the next one should be to her forever home.
