Renowned Jazz Drummer Dies at Calabasas Home

Ed Shaughnessy, 84, a jazz drummer for three decades with Doc Severinsen's Tonight Show band, died of a heart attack Friday at his Calabasas home, according to the LA Times.

Shaughnessy performed with such music legends as Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, John McLaughlin and Leonard Bernstein, the report said.
