5 Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 21

Temperatures are finally cooling a bit, according to National Weather Service predictions.

  2. The Calabasas Rotary Club also meets today. The club meets at 12:10 p.m. at Wolf Creek Restaurant & Brewing Company, 26787 Agoura Road. Find out more about the club and its projects on its Rotary website.
  3. King Gillette Ranch hosts a free evening campfire for the whole family at 7 p.m. tonight. The ranch, a project of the Montains Recreation and Conservation Authority in cooperation with the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, is located at 26800 Mulholland Hwy.
  4. Looking ahead, on Thursday, the library will host Pumpkin Patch Story Time at 1:30 p.m. The children's librarian will read, sing and entertain children for the half-hour event. The program is appropriate for children 3 to 5 years.
  5. We're finally getting some cooler temperatures in Calabasas. The National Weather Service is predicting a high of 85 degrees today and highs in the mid to low 80s through the rest of the week. Tonight's low will be 57 degrees, the NWS said.
