Fresh Family Recipe: Homemade Marshmallow Peeps
All Natural Marshmallow "Peeps" made with pure maple syrup and all natural beet coloring.
Spring is here, and with it comes one of the most recognizable candy confections to grace the supermarket shelves: Marshmallow Peeps. Those little pastel colored puffs of artificial flavor fill many Easter baskets and young tummies each year.
But perhaps it’s time to consider what those little bunnies and chicks are actually made of. Over at Out of the Box Food, we have deconstructed the "Peeps" and discovered some alarming information. But we also took it a step further and created an all-natural recipe which is sweetened with pure maple syrup and colored with beet juice. Fun food can be natural.
