4 Tips for Redesigning Your Business’ Website

With the end of the year less than three months away, there’s no better way to get a head start on 2013 and the upcoming holiday season than by giving your company website a quick retouching! I spoke with Deborah Sweeney from MyCorporation here in Calabasas on some pointers for businesses looking to freshen up their sites (and psst - MyCorp's getting the revamping treatment by the end of the month!)

1) Keep a Clean Layout

Avoid excessive clutter on your home page and beyond – you don’t want to have customers unsure of where to find the content that they need. A white background is simple and clean and doesn’t distract you from any of the important information you’re looking for.

2) Include Sharing Buttons for Your Blog

Ready to share a blog post but have no buttons around to tweet it out with? If you don’t already have sharing buttons embedded in your blog, see what you can do to include some. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest make a great starter roster to work with!

3) Make Sure Your Contact Information is Easy to Find

Go beyond just keeping everything under a “contact” tab on your site – put the phone number where your business can be reached at and an email address on the home page too.

4) Feature Your Team Members!

When you’re talking about your company, half of the discussion will be about what you do. The other half will be about who you do it. Include an “about us” page with photos and quick bios about the members of your work team. It’ll give your site a great personalized touch!
