Band from TV will appear in concert Sunday, August 11, at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills to honor Calabasas resident Jamie Daugherty and benefit the ALS Association Golden West Chapter.
Daugherty, a Calabasas resident and chair of the City of Calabasas Communications & Technology Commission, was diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in January of 2012.
"It's so important to spread awareness of ALS," said Daugherty, whose been active in the community for over 20 years. "The Golden West Chapter serves those afflicted with the disease throughout much of California."

Greg Grunberg (Band From TV founding member and star of NBC’s Heroes, Alias and The Client List) is a longtime friend of Daugherty's.
"Jamie is one of the best people I've ever met," he said. "He's been a baseball coach and mentor to my middle son, Ben, for several years."

Grunberg, whose band band–made up of television stars/musicians–supports charitable organizations, said it was a no-brainer to become involved.
"Unfortunately, ALS has hit our team in more ways than one. One of the player's mom recently lost her battle with the disease," he said. "All of this was enough of a reason to help such a great cause, to help Jamie and to help his family."
The ALS Golden West Chapter, which represents most of California and Hawaii, is the only organization solely committed to the fight against ALS through public policy, research and patient care, according to Fred Fisher, president and CEO.
"There's no real effective drug out there," Fisher said. "So the only means for patients to live up to three times longer is through services that the chapter provides through multi disciplinary clinics."
The organization depends on charitable contributions through businesses and individuals as its sole source of revenue, he said.
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., with the Band from TV taking the stage at 8 p.m.
In addition to Grunberg, actors performing that evening are James Denton (guitar) from Desperate Housewives; Bob Guiney (vocals), who appeared on The Bachelor; Adrian Pasdar (guitar) of Heroes, Ultimate Spider-Man and The Lying Game; and Scott Grimes (keyboard/vocalist) from American Dad, ER, and NCIS Los Angeles.
