Chi Whiz: Carole Shashona stirs the senses and lights the way.

From exquisite black diamond jewelry for the body to candles and aromatic sprays for soul and the home, Carole Shashona brings beauty and balance together.

Thanks to a collective realization that balance in one’s life can bring change, many of us are looking for touchstones, aromas and aesthetics for our homes and ourselves. Feng Shui expert Carole Shashona, who is known for melding her refined interior design skills with time-tested Eastern well-being traditions, is now seeking to broaden her base from A-list celebrities to the rest of the world.

While Shashona’s newly launched higher-end Black Diamond jewelry line is a favorite thing for Oprah Winfrey (no surprise there), Simon Cowell judges her affordable room sprays and candles to be real keepers. Other fans include Eva Longoria, Sheryl Crow, Julie Christie, Reese Witherspoon and Patrick Dempsey. She’s also been commissioned by companies such as Conde Nast, Merrill Lynch, Paramount Studios, Neiman Marcus Dallas and several luxury hotels to bring harmony and balance to their private and public spaces.

While her investment jewelry line recently launched at Barney’s New York with great fanfare (prices indicate they are “investment” pieces), her appearances at the Beverly Hills store for her comparatively more affordable Luxe Home line of candles ($70), room sprays ($50) and other items enable practically everybody to replace a space’s “negative energy” with sensory elements that put one in a better, more positive frame of mind.

Suggested uses for her Luxe Home line include lighting one of her candles before bed and meditating on the changes you want to bring about, and giving your room a few pumps of Purifying Mist (with wild sage and cedar) to alleviate stress or Empowerment Mist (with mandarin citrus and basil) to impart an extra boost of energy.

No matter how Carole reads you or what she intuits, you can’t argue that taking a moment to slow down, breathe and meditate can make a big difference.  Speaking of which, one secret Shashona recently shared with the public at a recent appearance at Barney’s Beverly Hills that anyone can do is a “Taxi Cab” meditation.  The concept, of course, comes from what one can achieve during a cab ride in New York or any major city by taking a moment to calm down, breathe and internally chant a carefully selected meditation along with some affirming statements before arriving at a destination.  Talking about getting more mileage for the dollar!
