Meet & Greet with All Five LVUSD School Board Candidates at Round Meadow

On behalf of the RMPFA, we would like to

invite the community to come to a “Meet and Greet” with the Las Virgenes Unified School District Board of Education

candidates at Round Meadow Elementary on Wed.,

October 23rd at 8:30am.  This is a true Meet & Greet and is not a fundraiser.

This November 5th’s election includes seats for 3 LVUSD School Board members.  In alphabetical order, the candidates are: Angela Cutbill, Dallas Lawrence, Lesli Stein(incumbent), Mary Jo Ammon and Ray Pearl.

We entrust School Board members to set the policies (ie: classroom size) of our public elementary, middle and high schools. They have to set up and maintain an effective, efficient organizational structure for the district that lets the superintendent and administrators manage the schools, teachers teach and students learn. They are responsible evaluating and adopting policies that affect all schools in the district, serving as a judicial and appeals body when conflicts go unresolved, monitoring and adjusting district finances, and managing the collective bargaining process in the district. A school board has a heavy influence on the spirit of its school system and the whole community.

The candidates will each speak for 3 minutes with a q&a after. You can submit questions, the moderator will ask the questions and names will remain confidential. Due to time constraints, it’s possible that not all questions will be asked, but the organizers will make an effort to get a good sampling of topics.

To submit questions, or for further info, please email president@rmpfa.org.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!
