CALABASAS HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES ITS FIRST-EVER “MUSIC FUN RUN” TO SUPPORT MUSIC EDUCATION
The Sunday, December 9th Community Event Includes 10K, 5K and 1K Races for Adults/ Students/Kids, and Features Live Music and Staged Performances at the CHS Campus—
November 12, 2012, CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA— On Sunday, December 9th, Calabasas High School welcomes students, staff, runners and the community-at-large to an innovative fundraiser combining music and motion. The Music Department hosts the First Annual Music Fun Run to support student musicians and the arts at Calabasas High School’s award-winning Music Department, located at 22855 West Mulholland Highway in Calabasas. The event will feature 10K, 5K and 1K races, including a Kids Dash, along supervised courses set up on the High School campus and continuing into neighboring areas. Awards will be given to winners in each race.
The public and the school community are invited to enjoy great music and refreshments, and encouraged to walk/run the courses in support of Music Education. Live music to serenade the runners along the course will be featured. Both professional musicians and CHS students will perform at the post-race gathering, including Pop Artist Katie Cole, Vocal Coach and Singer Ken Stacey (who performed with Michael Jackson and also on American Idol), and popular CHS Jazz Combos and the a capella group Unstrumental.
Early registration prices (before December 2) are $15 for Kids, $30 for the 5K “Walk or Run” and $40 for the 10K “Walk or Run,” with registration fees after December 2 slightly higher. All funds go directly to support the CHS Music program.

7:00 a.m. Registration opens
8:00 a.m. 10K Start
8:15 a.m. 5K Start
8:30 a.m. Kids Dash 1K
9-11 a.m. Refreshments and Live Music
The Music Department at CHS is directed by Mr. Joshua Barroll and Mr. Aaron Kohen.
The races begin and end at Calabasas High School, which is located at 22855 West Mulholland Highway in Calabasas.
