Week in Review: Graduation, a New Sub Stop, and a Stolen Ducati

It was a week of beginnings and endings in Calabasas.

On one hand, Calabasas High seniors ended their grade school careers as they bid farewell to their school on graduation day.

And on the same day, the city welcomed Jersey Mike's, a new sub sandwich shop that opened its doors at the Summit at Calabasas.

Here's a look at those stories and everything else that went down in town from June 14 to June 19.

MONDAY

WEDNESDAY

The day began with coverage of a Valley Invitational Baseball League game. Calabasas lost to Chatsworth 6-2.

A man that claiming to be an interested buyer made off with a Ducati 999 after taking it for a test drive.

Jersey Mike's Subs also held its grand opening on Wednesday. It became the first business at the Summit at Calabasas shopping center to open its doors.

THURSDAY

The day began with our coverage of Agoura Pony baseball games played on June 16.

A video about the 2010 Calabasas High School graduation was also posted.

The day rounded out with a story about a man who was arrested for allegedly stalking two Disney Channel stars outside of their Calabasas home.

FRIDAY

We started things off with a Q and A with Jeff Reinhardt, public affairs and communications manager for the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, who talked about the recently approved district budget for the 2010-11 fiscal year.

Next up was our coverage of a groundbreaking ceremony for a new performing arts center at Calabasas High.

SATURDAY

The weekend began with a story about a footbridge project that will connect A.E. Wright Middle School and Las Virgenes Creek. Work on the pedestrian walkway begins Monday.

That was followed by our weekly hiking column where Reza Gostar described in vivid detail his journey to Century Lake via Cistern Trail.

Century Lake is a little known tropical getaway in Calabasas.
