Week in Review: Fourth Festivities and a Revised School Calendar

Calabasas once again celebrates Independence Day with plenty of events and the school board votes to trim the school year a little differently than planned.

Calabasas once again was host to several Fourth of July festivities, including its grand fireworks spectacular, and a shorter school year was approved by the Las Virgenes Unified Board of Education.

MONDAY

We started the week off with a bang, literally. We posted our coverage of this year's Fourth of July events from around the city, including the annual fun run, pet show and fireworks spectacular.

TUESDAY

WEDNESDAY

The first story of the morning was about the Las Virgenes Unified School District revising next year's school calendar. The 2010-11 school year will begin four days later and end four days earlier to avoid having a furlough in the middle of the year.
