VIDEO: Gershwin Tunes Coming to Library

A two-night engagement featuring classic show tunes will hit the Calabasas Library amphitheater on Friday and Saturday.

Tunes by legendary composers George and Ira Gershwin will be performed by a group of student singers and musicians at the this weekend.

The event is the fourth installment of the Spotlight the Art Foundation's Summer Cabaret and will take place at the library's amphitheater on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Calabasas High alum Taylor Shubert, now a student at the Boston Conservatory, is directing the production.

"I think Gershwin kind of appeals to everyone, there's everything from beautiful, languid ballads to really hearty uptempos, military marches, beautiful duets, there's a song in there for everyone," he said.

General admission is $12 at the door and $10 online if tickets are purchased by Wednesday

Seniors and student with ID can pay $8 in advance by Wednesday or $10 at the door, while tickets for kids under 10 are $5 online and $6 at the door.
