Save Big on Black Friday in Calabasas and Nearby
Various local retailers are opening early and slashing prices on toys, electronics, clothes and more.
The biggest shopping day of the year is nearly here, bringing with it special store hours and super sales. See which items are worth getting up before dawn for at places Staples, Target, Toys R Us and other stores.
They may not be opening early but many stores in the Commons at Calabasas are participating in the markdown madness with specials yet to be announced, and the shopping center is donating 5 percent of proceeds to local schools throughout the holiday season.
1. STAPLES, Woodland Hills, Westlake Village

Deal: Save $200 on select HP laptop computers, $300 on Blackberry Playbook tablets, $100 on Acer Iconia Tab tablets and $50 on Nook Color e-ink readers, in addition to markdowns on other electronics. Also, use a printable coupon to save $50 on a mobile phone.

3. TOYS R US, Woodland Hills, Thousand Oaks
Deal: In addition to unadvertised “mystery deals,” the store is also featuring: $100 off on battery-powered rides; 50 percent off Imaginarium train items under $50; $30 off on Baby Can Read programs; buy one Wii game and get another for $5, $10 off Cabbage Patch Kids, 50 percent off Squinkies and much more.
Good through: Thursday, starting at 9 p.m., until 1 p.m. on Black Friday.

Deal: Save 50 percent on select cribs and more.
Good through: Limited time only; store opens at 5 a.m. on Black Friday.
