Residents Learn Money-saving Green Tips at Library
SustainableWorks talks about easing the burden on the environment without hurting your wallet.
Nonprofit SustainableWorks held a green living workshop at the on Thursday and offered ways of lightening the burden on the environment while saivng money.
"If you are going on vacation and you have nothing in your refrigerator it uses up more energy so just throw in empty bottles, clothes, or boxes," said Victoria Charles, a resident program instructor. "Fill up your refrigerators if you are not going to be home for a while and it's completely empty, because when it's empty it uses a lot of energy."
According to Charles, there are still a lot of lacking efforts and interest in the green movement. The empty chairs at the event spoke for themselves.

"When their water bills are $1,000 a month instead of a couple hundred I think people will wake up, that's kind of the wake up call for most people unfortunately," said Charles.

"I definitely plan to change tomorrow I will bring my regular coffee cup that can be reused and rewashed," said Librarian Ally Godina.
