The al-Qaida leader is gunned down outside of Islamabad.

Osama Bin Laden was shot and killed in Pakistan on Sunday, President Barack Obama said during a late night announcement.

Bin Laden, the leader of al Qaida, became the world's most wanted man after the Sept. 11 attacks, which he orchestrated.

He was gunned down in a mansion outside of Islamabad during an operation executed by U.S. assets, Obama said.
