Molly, the Miracle Cat

This cat has eight lives left.

One of the most amazing rescues we have come across at the animal shelter is that of Molly. A good samaritan in Thousand Oaks found her and dropped her off at an animal hospital. Molly had been mauled by a wild animal. She had bites, scratches, slash marks and puncture wounds over much of her body.

The shelter was contacted, and Molly was immediately picked up and transferred. She has since been cared for by the wonderful vet tech that works there. He had to shave much of her body, tend to her wounds and put her on IV antibiotics. She had to be kept in isolation for over a month, but managed to survive.

A week ago, she was deemed well enough to join the other cats in the Habikat where another amazing thing took place. She fit right in with the other cat inhabitants and is able to ambulate on the floor and lower levels of the room.

She is small for a one-year-old and has a very short tale, because she is what is known as a Stubby Manx. However, when you look at her face and ignore her shaved sections, you can imagine what a beauty she will be when her fur grows in.

She shows very little shyness with people, socializes well and even allows some petting, although she must still be experiencing pain. She seems to sleep a bit more than the other residents, but that is understandable under the circumstances. This girl is a winner!
