Get Out for Some Weekend Fun

From beer to Bradbury, there's something for everyone going on this weekend.

We know you don't always stay in the neighborhood for the weekend, so here are some  events and activities taking place Saturday and Sunday both in Woodland Hills and nearby.

Calabasas Farmers Market: Just on the Calabasas/Woodland Hills border, the farmers market takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Calabasas Road and El Canon Ave. and features an assortment of locally grown produce, food, wine, flowers and crafts.

Concert on the Green: This week, the 300th U.S. Army Band will perform a free Salute to Our Armed Forces with marches, overtures, popular music, patriotic selections, and instrumental and vocal solos. The concert begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at Warner Park, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd.

Malibu Beer Festival: The Malibu Inn hosts this fourth annual event featuring 22 differnt beers from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The Inn is at 22969 Pacific Coast Highway. Get tickets, $25, online.

Ray Bradbury Celebration: Thousand Oaks Barnes & Noble will celebrate the life and legacy of Ray Bradbury with an open-mic reading of Fahrenheit 451 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and continuing throughout the day. Join in by reading a paragraph, a page or a chapter of the novel or just sign the guestbook to let the Bradbury family know how his work has affected you. The store is at 160 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

Santa Monica Visitors Center Grand Opening: The National Park Service, CA State Parks, Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and MRCA will open a new interagency visitor center at King Gillette Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains Saturday. The ribbon cutting will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. and there will be free guided activities, music and food from noon to 4 p.m. The center is at King Gillette Ranch, 26800 Muholland Hwy, Calabasas.
