5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 8

  1. It's election day! will go before voters today while polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If approved, the proposed measure would put a new $95-a-year parcel tax for eight years to support local schools. How do you feel about Measure K? Stay tuned for our coverage of the result.
  2. It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another installment of Kids Club at the Bring the kids at 4:30 p.m. for an evening of ace painting, tattoo art, balloon making, gymnastics and disco dancing in an enclosed area while parents relax, dine and socialize. A kids-free-eat special is also available all night long.
  3. The Rotary Club of Calabasas will meet at 12:10 p.m. at Canyon Sports Grill & Deli (formerly Spumoni) New members are always welcome.
  4. Online registration for the annual Calabasas Classic 5K/10K is open through Thursday. In-person registration will be open through the day of the run on Sunday. The annual event is a fundraiser to benefit local families battling cancer.
  5. Today will be sunny with a high of 71, according to the National Weather Service.
