5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 18
A performance of 'The Laramie Project,' Pumpkin Patch Story Time and a chance to tour old film sets.
- Enjoy a student rendition of The Laramie Project at Calabasas High at 7 p.m. at the school's theater. The play tells the tragic story of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old who was murdered because of his sexual orientation. A 2 p.m. and a 7 p.m. showing are scheduled for Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at the school's theater website. Admission is $10 for student and $15 for adults.
- It's Pumpkin Patch Story Time at the Calabasas Library at 10:30 a.m. for children under the age of three.
- It's that time of the year again when Las Virgenes Creek needs to be rid of litter. Volunteers are invited to help pick up trash at the creek on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. Meet at the creek's entrance at the Agoura Road Bridge (right behind the Starbucks).
- Take a film history tour through on Saturday and see the sights of former movie sets. The event begins at 10 a.m. and admission is $75. Use the temporary entrance 200 yards past the main gate. Meet in main parking lot.
- Expect patchy fog today with a high of 61, according to the National Weather Service.
