5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 15

Coffee with a sheriff's captain, a play at Calabasas High and Study Buddies at the library.

  1. Talk about local safety issues with Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station Capt. Joseph Stephen and other deputies this morning at the Starbucks inside the Commons. Meet up is at 9 a.m.
  2. Enjoy a student rendition of The Laramie Project at Calabasas High from Tuesday through Saturday at the school's theater. The play tells the tragic story of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old who was murdered because of his sexual orientation. Show begins at 7 p.m. from Tuesday through Friday, with a 2 p.m. and a 7 p.m. showing on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at the school's theater website. Admission is $10 for student and $15 for adults.
  3. It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another installment of Kids Club at the Sagebrush Cantina. Bring the kids at 4:30 p.m. for a fall-themed Charlie Brown production. A kids-free-eat special is also available all night long.
  4. Are you an elementary or middle school student in need of homework help? Brainy Calabasas High students are here to tutor you. Study Buddies will convene at the library at 3:30 p.m.
  5. Today will be partly sunny with a high of 66 and a chance for drizzle, according to the National Weather Service.
