5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 26

Fundraising campaign for local schools, farmers market and a chance for more rain.

  1. It's Saturday once again and that means it's time for the weekly Calabasas Farmers Market. Stop by Calabasas Road just west of El Canon Avenue between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and check out dozens of vendors selling everything from fruits and veggies to meat and desserts.
  2. Las Virgenes Unified officials to donate and help reach a target of $1 million to prevent teacher layoffs within the district. Click here for information on how to make a donation.
  3. Stop by the  between 9 a.m. and noon for . Ages 13 or older. Please bring your own equipment.
  4. The city has issued a reminder about its authority to remove political campaign signs that have been illegally placed in the public right of way.
  5. There's a 50 percent chance for scattered showers today with a high of 44, according to the National Weather Service.
